Curated Community Content

StreetBuzz is an independent, community-driven news and social media platform, providing hyper-local news, public safety announcements, and crime alerts from the residents, to the residents. The platform’s goal is to empower locals by giving them an outlet for real-time, unfiltered news and events. The app was launched by the same team behind The Gold Coast Torch, which was an initial response to the youth crime epidemic in Queensland. StreetBuzz serves as an alternative to Facebook groups and community pages, offering a more focused, feature-rich platform for locals to stay informed and engaged.

StreetBuzz application about us

Core Principles

Our values are the guiding light behind everything we do — holding us to a standard of excellence and reminding us to make ART every single day.

Accountability

We believe in holding both individuals and institutions to a higher standard by fostering a transparent and responsible community. StreetBuzz empowers everyday citizens to document, report, and respond to what’s happening in their neighbourhoods.

Reality

StreetBuzz doesn’t sugarcoat or sensationalise. We aim to show real, raw, and relevant events as they unfold — the good, the bad, and the ugly — so communities can stay informed and prepared.

Truth

In an era of misinformation, we are committed to accuracy and verification. StreetBuzz exists to be a trusted platform where real people share real stories grounded in truth.

Our Mission

“Connecting neighbourhoods with technology and curated community-driven content to build a better city.”

Our aim is to make StreetBuzz the number one place for staying informed and staying connected. We believe real stories and real conversations should come from the people — not just top-down media. That’s why we’re building a platform where anyone can report, share, and engage with their community directly, creating stronger and more informed neighbourhoods

Our Motto

The Good

The everyday wins, local heroes, uplifting moments, and community pride. Stories that restore faith in humanity and remind us why we love where we live.

The Bad

Public safety alerts, crime updates, missing persons, stolen property, and everything that helps keep you informed and aware of what’s happening nearby.

The Ugly

The raw and sometimes uncomfortable truths. The things traditional media might avoid — but we believe the public deserves to see, know, and act on.
