Welcome to StreetBuzz. By accessing or using the StreetBuzz website or mobile application (“Platform”), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

1. Eligibility

To use StreetBuzz, you must:

  • Be 17 years of age or older
  • Be capable of entering into a legally binding agreement
  • Provide accurate and truthful information during registration

StreetBuzz is not available to individuals under the age of 17.

2. Account Registration & Identity

To create an account, users must:

  • Register with their real full name
  • Provide a valid Australian mobile phone number
  • Complete SMS verification

StreetBuzz does not require ID verification, however:

  • Accounts suspected of using false names, aliases, or misleading identity information may be treated as anonymous accounts
  • Anonymous or unverifiable users are not permitted on the platform
  • These accounts may face:
    • Reduced visibility
    • Increased moderation scrutiny
    • Suspension or permanent removal

Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their account.

3. Platform Purpose

StreetBuzz is a community-driven platform designed for:

  • Local alerts and safety updates
  • Community news and incidents
  • Public-interest information sharing

StreetBuzz is not an emergency service.
In emergencies, users must contact 000.

4. User Conduct

Users must not post or engage in:

  • False or misleading information
  • Harassment, abuse, or threats
  • Defamation or unverified accusations
  • Graphic or distressing content without warning
  • Content that promotes or glorifies criminal behaviour
  • Personal or private information (doxxing)
  • Spam, scams, or unauthorised promotions

StreetBuzz reserves the right to remove content or accounts at its discretion.

5. Content Ownership & Licence

Users retain ownership of content they upload.

However, by posting on StreetBuzz, you grant StreetBuzz a:

  • Worldwide
  • Non-exclusive
  • Royalty-free
  • Sub-licensable
  • Perpetual licence

to use, reproduce, distribute, modify, display, and publish your content.

This includes the right for StreetBuzz to:

  • Share content across its platforms
  • Use content in marketing and promotional material
  • License content to third parties, including media organisations, for editorial or commercial use

Users acknowledge that they are not entitled to compensation unless explicitly agreed in writing.

6. Moderation & Enforcement

StreetBuzz uses a combination of:

  • Automated systems
  • Human moderation
  • Community reporting

We may:

  • Remove content
  • Limit visibility
  • Suspend or ban users

at our sole discretion.

7. Privacy & Data

Your use of the Platform is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Data Handling Policy.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Platform at any time if users breach these Terms.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
