Guidelines for Media Use
These guidelines are for media organizations and other third parties who wish to use content from Streetbuzz. Please read them carefully before using any of our content.

1. License Granted To StreetBuzz
By submitting content to StreetBuzz, users grant StreetBuzz a worldwide, non-exclusive, sub-licensable licence to:
- Host, display, and distribute the content on the StreetBuzz platform.
- Share or republish the content on StreetBuzz-owned channels.
- License the content to third parties, including media organisations, for editorial, promotional, or commercial use.
- This licence exists to allow StreetBuzz to operate the platform, promote important information, and facilitate lawful third-party use where appropriate.
2. Media & Third-Party Use of StreetBuzz Content
StreetBuzz content: including but not limited to photos, videos, screenshots, verified alerts, and compiled incident data — may not be reused, reproduced, or republished by media outlets or third parties without permission. This applies whether the content is:
- Downloaded
- Screenshotted
- Screen-recorded
- Embedded
- Rewritten using original StreetBuzz media
3. Licensing For Editorial Use
StreetBuzz may offer licences to media organisations and other third parties to use StreetBuzz content for editorial or commercial purposes. Licences may apply to:
(Licensing terms and fees are determined on a case-by-case basis, depending on the nature of the content, usage, and distribution. Unless otherwise agreed in writing: Users do not receive direct payment for licensed use of their content. StreetBuzz manages licensing and permissions centrally).
- Photos
- Videos
- Verified incident reports
- Time-stamped or location-verified alerts
- Aggregated or curated StreetBuzz content
4. What Is Generally Permitted Without a Licence
The following uses are generally permitted without a licence:

- Linking directly to StreetBuzz content
- Referencing trends or incidents without reproducing StreetBuzz media
- Quoting short excerpts of text with clear attribution
- Reporting on events independently using original reporting or sources
5. Why Licensing Exists
Content licensing helps everyone:
- Maintain accuracy and context when content is reused
- Protect contributors from misuse or misrepresentation
- Support the sustainability of the StreetBuzz platform
- Ensure responsible and ethical reuse of community-generated information
- StreetBuzz aims to work collaboratively, not adversarially, with media organisations

- We prefer to resolve matters cooperatively and professionally.
